AIA Life announces new Chairman of the Board and CEO re-appointment
- Fisher Zhang, AIA Group Regional Chief Executive, appointed as Chairman and Non-Executive Director of AIA Life
- Nathan Chuang re-appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead AIA Life for 3 years
July 4, 2025 – AIA Life announced that it has appointed Fisher Zhang as Chairman and Non-Executive Director and re-appointed Nathan Chuang as CEO. It held a shareholders’ meeting today at AIA Tower in Jung-gu, Seoul, and passed a resolution to re-appoint CEO Chuang, while Chairman Fisher’s appointment has been effective since June 9, 2025.
Following AIA Group’s earlier appointment of Fisher Zhang as Regional Chief Executive for Korea, Mainland China and Vietnam, he has also become the Chairman and Non-Executive Director on the Board of AIA Life in Korea.
Chairman Zhang previously served as CEO of AIA China from 2017, before being appointed as Regional Chief Executive and Group Executive Committee member in November 2024. Under Chairman Zhang’s leadership, AIA China has grown to become one of AIA Group’s largest market operations and it is the number one ranked company globally for Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) members. Since joining AIA in 2000, he has also held other senior management roles in China, including Chief Distribution Officer, Chief Agency Officer and Chief Marketing Officer.
In addition, AIA Life has also re-appointed Nathan Chuang as CEO. CEO Nathan Chuang will continue to lead AIA Life for an additional three-year term beginning on July 4.
Before his first appointment as CEO of AIA Life in 2022, CEO Nathan Chuang previously held senior leadership roles at AIA Group and AIA Hong Kong & Macau, including Group Director of Financial Management & Planning reporting to the Group Chief Financial Officer. He is a Certified Practising Accountant with CPA Australia.
Since 2022, CEO Nathan Chuang has led the high-quality and sustainable growth of AIA Life by strengthening its multi-channel distribution and developing innovative customer propositions. Under his leadership, AIA Life launched AIA Premier Partners, a wholly-owned General Agency subsidiary, enhanced its suite of life and health insurance products and created new digital services for its customers, agents and telesales representatives.
