SEOUL, Jun. 13, 2022 - AIA Korea demonstrated corporate citizenship with its latest donation to the 'Dream Again' CSR campaign, which support amputees who have lost a limb due to disease or an accident.
AIA Korea hosted a 'Dream Again Donation Ceremony' on June 10 at The Bloomvista in Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province. The ceremony was attended by 180 AIA Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) master planners, who donated a total of KRW 20 million to the Community Chest of Korea (President Yoon Young-seok, "Fruit of Love"). This donation will be used to support amputees.
AIA Korea launched the 'Dream Again' campaign in 2017, with the goal of supporting amputees to recover their motor skills and mental health on their rehabilitation journey. MDRT members have been active in supporting amputees by raising annual contributions to fulfill their corporate responsibility.
Since 2017, the company has raised a total of KRW350 million and provided artificial legs to 33 amputees. These amputees include athletes in archery, ice hockey, and dancing, as well as a disability awareness instructor, teachers at special needs schools and students.
"Master planners in AIA Korea spend most of their time listening and advising customers to help them live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives(HLBL). This is our job," said Jung, Seong-sook, AIA Korea MDRT Chair. "However, through the 'Dream Again' campaign we are helping to achieve HLBL in other ways by helping to raise public awareness and empathy for amputees."
"We deeply appreciate AIA Korea and its MDRT members for being so considerate of amputees since 2017," said Shin, Hye-young, Office General at the Fruit of Love. "I would like to ask warm and consistent attention to the people from all social strata for vulnerable neighbors in our society to be provided with an opportunity to heal and recover their body and mind."
AIA Korea's master planners are also participating in the Group's ESG initiative via various campaigns. The company launched the 'HLBL(Healthier, Longer, Better Lives) Forest Project' in April, 2022, as part of its efforts to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and has planted 2,000 trees in the Anyangcheon area. AIA Korea donated KRW 100 million to the Community Chest of Korea to support this project, and the master planners, alongside executives and employees, contributed to Anyangcheon's afforestation.
Additionally, AIA Korea donated a total of KRW 1.23 billion to children with leukemia and other cancers. This contribution was made through the Share Your Dream Fund, which provides medical expenses and scholarships in partnership with the Korean Association of Children with Leukemia and Cancer.
